Campaign Lifecycle

From the + New button, you can access the Campaign creation screen. There you can create new campaigns including selecting the relevant product(s), indicating the price change (discount), setting the campaign type, defining the campaign period, and defining the campaign description and codes.

Alternatively, Subscribe Campaigns offer a time-cutting capability of duplicating existing campaigns. If you'd like to recreate a successful discount, clone the original existing campaign and use it as a template. Change the relevant parameters and unique codes and IDs for a quick turn around of the campaign. The Clone action is available when accessing the existing Campaigns from the Catalog menu.

A Campaign can be in one of the following states:

  • Pending: the Campaign has been prepared but has not yet been activated. The Campaign codes are not yet usable.
  • Active: the Campaign is well defined and has been activated.
  • Canceled: the Campaign has been manually canceled and is permanently disabled. Its Campaign codes are no longer valid.
  • Inactive: the Campaign has been deactivated, and may not currently be used. It can be activated again.

Campaigns are created and saved in a pending state. They can be edited while in pending state. Once active, a campaign is not editable rather it must first be deactivated.

Subscribe Campaign general lifecycle:

  1. Ensure you have an available Product in your catalog for which you'd like to offer a discount.
  2. Create new or clone an existing Campaign. A cloned campaign is created in pending state. For more details, refer to Working with Campaigns.
  3. Select whether the campaign is a Promotional Campaign or a Coupon Campaign. For more details, refer to About Campaigns.
  4. Enter the relevant Campaign details, make sure to enter unique IDs and codes.
  5. Save the Campaign. The Campaign is saved as pending state and is not yet active.
  6. For Coupon Campaigns, generate the coupon codes and store the generated TSV file securely. For more details, refer to Campaign Coupon Codes.
  7. Ensure that a campaign code can be accepted in your online store and is passed to Subscribe with the other subscription purchase data.
  8. Activate the campaign. The campaign is available in the Subscribe product catalog and the relevant discount will be accepted as part of a subscription.
  9. For Coupon Campaigns with an additional layer of security, activate the coupon codes through the API interface.
  10. Offer the campaign discount to your customers or the public.
  11. If you require additional coupon codes once the campaign is active, use the Generate More Codes option in the Actions list. For more details, refer to Manage Coupon Codes.
  12. When a customer purchases a product/subscription along with a campaign code, Subscribe validates the code and its applicability (to the different Subscription Items (Products) and Billing Plans) and automatically calculates the new charge resulting from the code redemption.
  13. To keep a list of Campaigns, you can export the Campaigns to a csv file. Click the Download button and select whether to download the current displayed results only (by default, 10 to a page) or the full result list.
  14. Track the Campaign's effectiveness using the Campaign Redemptions Report available as part of the Insights menu.
  15. Promotion Campaigns period can be extended by deactivating the campaign, editing the promotion period and then reactivating.
Note: Deactivating a Coupon campaign immediately deactivates the Coupon Campaign codes and these can not be reactivated.
