Account Lifecycle and Best Practices
Subscribe Account general lifecycle:
- Define where initial customer information is gathered. Most often, Customers' sign up data is collected through the customer registration flow from your online store or app and stored in an Identity management or Customer Management system.
- Sync the customer details to Subscribe via API. Customer's details are stored as a Subscribe account. Make sure to use Account ID and/or External Account ID as the linked identifier to your Merchant systems.
- When providing the customer payment method, it is held in the account and is available for purchases of subscriptions or single transactions. For compliance, payment data displayed in the Portal is masked when required.
- Keep personalized customer details in the form of custom data Name:Value pairs.
- Create new subscriptions for your customers. Subscriptions are created for an account and consist of one billing plan, one or more products (called subscription items) and the payment method used to charge the subscription.
- Once an account has been created, you can grant a currency/token credit.
Typically this is done in response to a customer service call. Account-based
credits will be consumed by the next transaction that uses the currency or token
on the account, either a subscription renewal transaction or a one-time purchase
transaction.
For more details, refer to Grant Credit to the Account. To track credit activity per an account, use the Credit Activity page available under the Insights menu and filter by account ID.
- Subscribe supports family units by supporting parent and children accounts. A
parent account can have multiple child accounts but a child account can have
only one parent. The parent account can pay for the children's
subscriptions.
For more details, refer to Accounts or Add Child to the Account .
- Vindicia Subscribe is fully commited to GDPR compliance. Super User role
holders can access a customer's account, for which deletion was requested by the
customer, and delete it. This process can't be undone.
For more details, refer to Account GDPR Erase .
- Track the accounts entitlements for active subscriptions using the Account Entitlement Detail report as part of the Insights menu.
- Track your communication with customers and the emails that were sent using the Email Notification Detail report as part of the Insights menu.
- Track Events for your customers using the Event History report as part of the Insights menu.
