Cancel a Subscription

You can cancel a subscription using the portal. Typically this is done in response to a customer service call.

To cancel a subscription:

  1. Access the subscription from Billing > Subscriptions.
  2. Click Cancel Subscription in the Actions Panel.
    The Cancel Subscription dialog box appears.
  3. Define the fields as needed. Refer to the table below for guidance regarding the fields.

Disentitle Immediately Toggle Yes or No. Toggle Yes to cancel the related entitlements immediately. Otherwise, the entitlements continue through the end-date, as determined by the last successful billing for this subscription. Default value is No.OptionalTerminate customer access immediately

Settle Toggle Yes or No. Toggle Yes to settle the subscription when it is canceled by either refunding the customer for a portion of the prepaid use that will no longer be available, or by charging for non-recurring-charges that the customer has not yet paid. When set to No the charges or credits remaining on the subscription are not changed, and are carried forward in the subscription balance. How the subscription is settled will be reflected by the transactions/refunds included in the output. Default value is No. OptionalGive the customer a Refund for their unused time
Send Cancel Notice Toggle Yes or No. Toggle Yes to send a cancelation email. When set to No, no cancelation email is sent. Default value is No. OptionalSend AutoBill Stop Notice
Reason Code

Select a reason code from the dropdown box. Cancel reason codes include a set of generic merchant reasons which can be used, or it is possible to define and use custom cancel reason codes.

  1. Click Cancel Subscription.
    The subscription is canceled or transferred to a pending canceled status according to the defined parameters.
    Note: A subscription in Pending Cancel state can undergo an additional cancel process in order to disentitle (and cancel) it immediately.
